Friends in North Carolina
Dave, Jen, and Morgan Teifer
Dave & Jen live 30 minutes north of Gastonia in Cornelius, North Carolina. They have a little girl named Morgan, who was born on 17 February 2004.
Dave and Brian met at Gaston College while Dave was an adjunct chemistry professor for one semester in 2001. Dave and Jen have been wonderful friends and have given us great support to us both over the years.
Dave and Jen enjoy watching CBS's Survivor and are avid (yuk!) Florida Gator fans (I know, have pity!) We love getting together the second week in September to watch the Vols and Gators go at it for the year's bragging rights.
Dave and Jen helped us tremendously during our infertility treatments and we will be forever grateful. Morgan is a joy and we love seeing her and playing with her. She has been a bright beacon in all of our lives. Thank you so much Morgan.
It was at Morgan's second birthday party where we decided to foster and live in Guatemala for the majority of 2006. Jen's mother and aunt convinced us that taking off work for the fall semester was not only necessary, but achievable.
Thanks Dave, Jen, and Morgan for being there for us. We couldn't have done this without you!

Brian, Andi, and Nathan Bookout
Brian and Andi have been friends with us since we all started dating within a week of each other during the winter of 2002.
Brian teaches at Gaston College with Brian and works in the Department of Social/Behavioral Sciences. Andi is an elementary school teacher in the Gaston County school system.
The Bookouts were married a few months before us at a beautiful beachside ceremony at Hilton Head, SC. They live in nearby Cherryville, NC and have many interests similar to ours. Brian B. and Brian Di. both enjoy watching and refereeing soccer. Brian B. is a big Chelsea Football Club (England).
The Bookouts and DiBartolos enjoy taking trips to the beach and mountains together. Brian and Andi enjoy kayaking and hiking. They both like eclectic, local music, the outdoors, golfing and support the local public radio stations.
This summer they had their first child, Nathan Bradley Bookout who was born on 18 July, 2006. We anticipate Nathan and D'Ale to grow up together and hang out for a long time.
Thanks Brian and Andi for supporting us and being there as friends.

Jerry, Jill, and Abbie Angelichio
Jerry and Jill live in the Elizabeth section of Charlotte, just to the east of Gastonia.
Jerry and Brian were born on the exact same day, 6 July 1970 and their children were born one week apart in May of 2006. Abbie was born on the night of 18 May (a week before D'Ale). She arrived about 4.5 weeks early, weighed 5 lbs 10 oz and was 19 inches long, pretty big for that gestational age.
Jill works at Wachovia Bank in uptown Charlotte and Jerry teaches Astronomy and Physics at Gaston College, and has an office right next to Brian's.
Jerry is obsessed with Fantasy Football, the Panthers, the Red Sox, and making their house the most up-to-date, high-tech you can get. He loves mowing his lawn and vacuuming his house with his remote control gadgets while he sits on his patio watching the Sox in his outdoor Entertainment Center.

Dr. Ola, Shelley, and Linnea Johansson
Vol Fans!
Ola and Shelley live in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. They have a little girl named Linnea, who was born on 24 October, 2003. http://linneamarie.aboutmybaby.com/
Ola, Shelley and Brian met at the University of Tennessee while Ola and Brian were geography grad students. Brian and Ola had many similar interests, such as urban geography, baseball, soccer, and good times. Shelley and Brian liked hanging out and music. We all loved exploring cultural outings, the liquid culture of the hollers of East Tennessee, and of course, the Vols.
Ola and Shelley have been together since Ola was an exchange student in high school. Shelley visited Ola in Sweden after that and they have been in love since. They were married on 4 July 1998 in downtown Nashville.
After meeting Cheryl for the first time, Shelley pulled aside Brian and said, "We love this girl, we approve of her!" Shelley and Cheryl both are museum people and love many of the same things.
We love visiting the Johanssons in Pennsylvania. Dr. Ola is a professor at The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and Shelley is the Marketing Manager at the Johnstown Area Heritage Association (Johnstown Flood Museum http://www.jaha.org/)
Thanks Ola and Shelley for being such great friends. We love you!
