On Thursday 23 November, we celebrated our Day of Thanks in Guatemala.  The day before we got the great news that Alessandro's case had exited the legal court system (PGN)!  After 6 months in Guatemala, and a few days short of his birthday, Alessandro finally has the DiBartolo last name.

Thanksgiving in Guatemala was similar to that in the US, but without the whole family.  In the morning, we watched a little bit of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (on Mexican Telemundo TV).  Cheryl and Sharon made dinner all day, while Brian watched the kids.  There was even NFL football on TV (we found a CBS station from Los Angeles and on ESPN).  Dinner was absolutely wonderful and we had a great time.  Those at dinner were Alessandro, Brian, Cheryl, Sharon, Isabella, Sophie (daughter of house owner), and Virginia, Robincita, and Maria Cruz (the housekeeper, her daughter and sister).

Halloween Party with other adoptive families of Antigua.  We had a lot of fun and enjoyed pizza, cake, and photos.

Cheryl really enjoyed her birthday parties.  We added a birthday party to a foster family get-together on Saturday 23 Sep.  For her birthday, we went to her favorite nacho place, Reds Los Arcos for a great lunch.  We had a small dinner party on her birthday, which was attended by a few friends.
