Dear Mr. and Mrs. Ortiz, I read about the birth of your four children in the Cornerstone. I want to share with you my story, in the hope that it might offer you both hope throughout this time. I was born four months premature weighing one pound eleven ounces, and am a surviving tiwn. My parents went through a lot during the four months I was in the hospital, and after I came home. I am now 23, healthy, and thriving. My prayers will be with your family throughout this time and in the years to come. Blessings and Peace, Kristin Reinhold

I wanted to say congrats on your 4 little blessings. I have been reading your journals and everything that you all have been through. I am not much older then you all and I have been married for almost two years. I could not imagine going through everything that you all have. It is great that you all are supporting each other so well. I can tell that god is the center of your marriage. I wanted to let you know that I will be praying for you and I also would like to know what else you need for the babies. I would love to send them something.

First off CONGRATULATIONS! I check on here quite often to see how well your babies are progressing. I spoke with you guys through e-mail a few months ago about helping out with the quads when they arrived. I currently Nanny for a family of 11 month old quads but could help in the evenings if your interested. I am sure things are very busy right now, but when you get a chance you may email me. Until then enjoy your beautiful miracles and I'll keep praying for their healthy development. Happy New Year!

Congratulations on your miracles! Our son, Drake, was born on June 26, 2007 @ 24 weeks gestation weighing 1 lb 4 oz. We were discharged from Presbyterian on November 3rd after 130 days. It is amazing how resilient these babies are. Drake is home now, on Oxygen for a couple more months but otherwise thriving at 8 lbs! Hang in there you are with a great team at Presby. We will keep you in our prayers and if you need to talk to someone who just went through it all feel free to email.

Congratulations on your new arrivals! I know the ups and downs of preemies. Both my children were born at 33 weeks. You will be amazed how one day everything will start to come together. Ask your nurses about doing Kangaroo care. I think it really helped with the mother/child bond. I wish you the best of luck and a happy holiday!

Congradulations on the babies. I saw your story on News 14 Carolina and wanted to share a Birthday suggestion. A friends was born on 24DEC so her family celebrate her 1/2 birthday. For instance she was born on 24DEC so her parnests realized her birthday would get Lost in the Christmas Rush for the rest of her life so they always celebrated her birthday on 24JUN - she gets a real Birthday with a party with friedns that help her clebrate with out the holiday conflicks. Of Course on her real birthday the family always has a cake and celebrates and she knows she has not be cheated out of a Birthday. Congratulations again and best wishes!

Congratulations on your 4 little miracles from God. We are the proud parents to 11 month old quads also. I know how you must be feeling, but believe me, it does get better. Ours were born at 28 weeks and were between 1 lb 12oz and 2 lbs 7 oz. They are all doing great now! The NICU can be overwhelming but keep praying and give yourself time to rest. They are in good hands. If you ever need to talk feel free to email us. God bless you all and Merry Christmas.

Just wanted to send a special Christmas wish your way --- we just brought home our son, Rush, from Presby Main 3 weeks ago. He was born at 27 weeks at 1 lb. 15 oz. and is now a healthy 6 lbs! I know exactly what you are going through. I know it's hard not to have them with you after carrying them for so many weeks and feeling them cuddle and move inside you. If you would like to talk - I am here for you. I pray that you will be able to hold your sweet babies very, very soon. Know that you are thought of often. Merry Christmas to you all.

What a wonderful Christmas gift of 4 little miracles! We had an amazing Mother's Day gift on May 12, 1990 (at only 24 weeks) of a beautiful 1# 10 oz. baby girl to join our 8 1/2 month old handsome little boy! God truly blessed us. We went through the brain bleeds as well as 2 cases of staph infection, etc. and made it to bring our little doll home at 4# 10 oz. and no oxygen or anything. After being warned that she may be "slow" or have some problems (Katie was born at Pres. Main with Dr. Brady) she will graduate from high school and be going to Campbell University with a Presidential Scholarship that will help to pay most of her 4 years there before she begins pharmacy school to become you got it ---a pharmicist ! These little miracle babies can be anything they want with the healing power of prayer and the amazing strides that have been made in the neonatal field. Dr. Brady is great-never promising, but always encouraging the parents. After almost 18 years we will always be thankful to first God and our families but next the Doctors and staff at Presbyterian Main for our 2 wonderful miracles. good luck and we will be praying for all 6 of you. Hope you get tot hold the babies---it will be your best Christmas gift ever. Good luck.

Our twin girls were born at 26.1 weeks weighing 1.5lbs and 1.13lbs. They were in the NICU four months. I know the journey you are on. Have hope and faith. Things really can work out beautifully. Our girls are perfect. It looks like several of your children are on nasal canulas all ready which is wonderful! It's a long road in the NICU. Pace ourselves. Take time for each other and don't feel guilty when you need a break. It's okay not to go a day or two. Take a weekend and go somewhere before the babies come home. It will be a while before you do. Don't be afraid to ask for help. We wish you the best. Feel free to email me if you have questions or need support. All our prayers...
