I've finally figured out what my hands are for! I have started to grab at some of my toys. I don't have good control yet, but I'm figuring it out.

My first experience with solid foods was to eat rice cereal. I did very well and am proud of myself. I even ate with a spoon!

Katie had her first airplane ride going to Washington, DC for a wedding. She had fun playing with Daddy in the airport, and then slept the entire time on the flight. Coming home she was almost just as good (just some crying in the airport).

Katie slept through the night for the first time! She slept from 10:30pm to 6am. I'll never forget waking up at 4:30am and realizing I hadn't heard from her, and running to check on her to make sure everything was ok. She has continued this pattern fairly consistently, with the exception of when her schedule is thrown out of whack.

Katie gave her first smile in response to another person when her mom was talking to and playing with her. What an amazing thing.

Katie is now sleeping in her big-girl crib instead of in the bassinet in mom and dad's room.

Katie enjoyed her first guests in from out-of-town. Angie and Aaron came out to meet her and spent the weekend with us. Katie really enjoyed the visit and we all had a good time.

Katie made her first cooing, happy sounds this evening.

Katie was not a big fan of bath time.

Katie had her first feeding by mouth through a bottle while still in the hospital. She was fed pedialite (sugar-water) to make sure her digestive system and repair site could tolerate the feedings before trying milk.
