NO Santa Picture This Year :-(
December 19, 2009
This year unfortunately, there will be no Santa picture. After standing in line for almost an hour at the mall, a little someone decided to have a fit when it was finally his turn to sit with Santa. He behaved so well and waited patiently the entire time, unlike many of the kids waiting in line. And then it was his turn... MAJOR fit, I tell you!! I held Junior the entire time and even sat next to Santa to take the picture with him, which was not part of the plan. I sat him on my lap and he wasn't trying to hear it. He just wanted to get away... literally! He kept squirming and trying to get away! Mommy was not a happy camper either. It's funny to me now, but it was not at all at the moment... waited an hour for this!!! Ugh!!! lol
Here's a picture of him before we left to visit Santa... all bundled up and ready to be tortured at the mall.

Junior Walking
September 11, 2009
Yippy!! Junior finally took his first steps all by himself!!
He managed to walk across the entire living room and back but then decided to take a break... about a week long. lol He was so use to crawling I guess he figured that's the best way he knew how to get around. I'd have to remind him and make him stand up.

He knows!!
August 31, 2009
Junior doesn't say much yet and I can pretty much count the few words that he says... tete (bottle), car (says it clearly), agua (water)... he tries to say "thank you", "bye-bye", "back pack" (character from Dora), "set set" is supposed to be sientate (sit down in Spanish), and "gock" is supposed to be dog. Little words here and there but still no "mommy". It's amazing how he understands and knows so much already. He can follow direction and is attentive when I ask him anything. I've been trying to teach him how to say "mommy" or "momma" since he was born, and still nothing. So I recently thought about asking him a simple question... "where's mommy?" I wanted to know if he even knows who this "mommy" I keep talking about is. Junior responded by tapping my arm... how exciting!!! My baby knows who I am!!! I'm sure he's gonna wear me out with it when he finally does say it... LOL

Drama King...
August 2009
Every night I take Junior a bath and then get him ready for bedtime, which of course includes his bedtime bottle. And every night it's the same thing... he waits for me in his crib with his 'blankey' in one hand while facing the doorway as I go prepare his bottle. Sometimes he'll wait patiently... he'll start to play but soon as I walk in the room he jumps up, grabs his blankey and just stands there waiting for me to pick him up. If I happen to take a few minutes longer making the bottle he starts having a fit! Lol I can't help to laugh at his silly little butt. I love how he just stands there with the blanket in one hand just waiting...
He LOVES himself some 'tete'... you would think I don't feed him the way he cries for that bottle... Lol

Uh Oh... It's That Time Again...
July 1, 2009
Just as Junior say's, "Uh oh!" It was time for his check-up today... his 15-month checkup that is. So you all know that just means more shots for the little guy.
He was given 2 shots and among those was a chickenpox vaccine. Which pretty much means my kid won't ever have to worry about feeling miserable with a fever and red itchy spots all over, the way most of us did.
Junior gained 2 pounds and grew an inch taller... Woo hoo!! Yay!! More pain for my back!! Lol
The picture above was taken at the clinic... Junior being silly while waiting for the doctor. :o)

Ouchy!!
April 24, 2009
Today was Junior's 12-month checkup and of course he had his next round of immunization shots. He was poked not only in his little ham (thigh) but in his arm too. At this age, they have blood work done to check for anemia. The little guy is still at 25 pounds as he has been for the past few months, which is okay. His growth and appetite are supposed to slow down a little at this point (lucky for me as heavy as he his... wheww! lol)
Needless to say, he was poked and he screamed his little head off but as you all can see he got home and it was as if nothing ever happened. He went straight to playing and being his little happy self. :o)

"Where's Jorgey?"
March 14, 2009
My little pumpkin is now 11 months old and is starting to identify objects. I had to wait several weeks to finally confirm his first word since it sounds like his usual baby talk. But yes, Jr. can now say "tete", which means bottle in spanish (short for tetero).
He can identify his monkey (Jorgey), his bobo (pacifier), and a ball. I'll ask him where they are and he'll go directly to them and pick them up. I'm sure there are other familiar objects since I am constantly talking to him and naming everything but I just haven't realized it yet. It's truly amazing. :o)

Junior's Anxiety...
December 30, 2008
This year we celebrated Junior's first Christmas and I have to say it wasn't what I expected. The little guy is only 8 months old and he doesn't have a clue as to what a "holiday" is but I still didn't think he'd have such a hard time.
Unfortunately, Junior is experiencing seperation anxiety. He cries a whole lot now when I leave his sight or when he's surrounded by too many people... even with familiar faces. He's also afraid of some things... afraid of animals (dogs) and afraid of toys (anything that moves).
It's great to know that I'm his favorite person in the whole world (lol), but it can be frustrating because there are times when I need to get things done and he just doesn't seem to be comfortable with anyone unless I am in the same room.
This past week has been tough for him because we've been around lots of family and friends and all the travel and visits have disrupted his regular routine. My little bear is his usual happy self but lately he can get real fussy and clingy. :o(

Time for that flu shot!! :-O
December 2, 2008
Junior had his 3rd set of vaccines today as well as a flu shot. My poor little guy had to be poked a total of 4 times. He cried and cried for about 10 minutes and got over it quickly. We came home and he was a bit cranky... I guess his little hams felt sore but once he drank his "tete" (short for tetero which is bottle in spanish) he was GOOOOOOD. :o) We have to go back in a month for a second dose of the flu vaccine...
Look at my 23 pounder!! LOL He's so yummy!! LOL
P.S. No more of that face below... he likes his peas now!

No Peas or Green Beans Please!!
October 20, 2008
Someone doesn't seem to like their veggies... Junior is now 6 months old and able to eat solids. I had planned to give him his fruits (baby food) first but then a family member advised me not to. Since fruits are sweet and most vegetables aren't, they would've been tastier to him. So I pretty much gave him the boring and "yucky" stuff before the good stuff to get him use to it.
We finally finished green beans! I fed him peas the first day but then I got mixed up and gave him green beans the next. The plan is to feed him the same kind for a few days to see if he has any allergies. So far, so good... no allergies. As far as him liking it? Not so good. He can't stand it... won't even swallow it! And he makes this face... it's hilarious! (I know, mommy's bad...lol) The trick is, I mix it with some of his oatmeal or rice cereal and then he'll eat it.
I read somewhere that it sometimes takes 10-15 tries... Woah!! What a mission!! (all worth it though) So for now I have to mix it with his cereal (which is going to fatten his little turkey butt some more) until he gets through all of them and I figure out which ones he really does like... then we'll mix those in. This kid is gonna weigh a ton when we're finally done with all the veggies... LOL!
Oh and by the way... that's not the funny face he makes, that's just him hating it.
