| Sam got to spend a weekend with the Wilmot High School cheerleaders, since Julie coached them. They went to Indianapolis to compete at their National Championships, and came in 1st!!!! It was an exciting weekend for him! |

| Easter! (April 11, 2004) |

| This was Sam's first Easter. The "Easter Bunny"came and brought him lots of chocolate (that mommy had to eat for him!), and he even got a cute toy from Oma Grahmann. We celebrated at Como Community Church, too, and had a great time with our old friends. |

| Sam is now 3 months old, but Julie's dad hadn't even met him yet!! He lives and works with Julie's mom in Ukraine, and wasn't able to stay for Sam's birth. So instead, he came for a special week-long visit just to get to know Sam. It was a tiring week, but awesome for the two of them. |

| April 24-25 was a big weekend for us! We got to go to a reception for Brian and Andrea Krause and meet a LOT of babies. We hung out with a lot of our friends, some who had never met Sam. Then we also got to spend some quality time with Ryan's mom Karen and then his dad's side. Sam loves hanging out with his Grandparents and Uncles! |

| 3 mths-Julie's First Mother's Day! (15 weeks old) |

| This was the best first Mother's Day ever. Paula, Julie's sister came to stay the night and helped Ryan make a great Breakfast In Bed for Julie. Sam...didn't really help. But he was cute, and even got all worn out from all the excitement. It was a great, relaxing day. |

Sam just gets more and more fun. He's learning to hold objects and he's really beginning to understand his pacifier. He can take it out of his mouth, and ALMOST gets it back in by himself. He makes a lot of cute and funny noises, too. He's got so much more personality now! |

| Sam has grown a lot this week, and we got to share him with Gramma Karen, Uncle Eddie, and Mike Praksti on May 28. It was a great day for them, just hanging out. Eddie took a couple of these photos, in fact! This week has also been a big week for Sam to learn to eat new things! Also, Sammy has really gotten totally into Sesame Street. He and Ryan like to watch Elmo and sing along with the songs. We are excited to share this part of our growing up with him, and he really gets into it. He giggles and interacts...we can tell that he's getting smarter every day. |

| This was a big fundraiser for the Exchange Program that Julie was in charge of (The German American Partnership Program). Sam and Ryan came to eat Brats and polka and have a great time supporting Julie on her last night as Coordinator of the program. Sam had a great time, and the night was a big success. |

| The Grahmann/Haack Vacation 2004 |

| All of us Grahmanns and Haacks (except poor Paula who stayed at work...booooo....) spent 4 glorious and relaxing days in Clearwater, MN this July. We swam in the FREEEZING pool, waded in the lake, and hung out playing Trivial Pursuit and Cranium all week. It was so fun to all be together, and we loved taking Sammy in the pool for his very first swim. |

| Summer 2004 |

| Sam is 6 months old now, and we have had a very busy summer while he's been growing up! We've spent some time with relatives like brand new baby Abby White (Ben and Annie's long-awaited baby girl), Julie's Auntie Linda, Ryan's Gramma Alt, and other family. Also, Sam has learned to master crawling, clapping, eating solid foods, and standing up holding on to things. We can't wait to see what Fall will bring! |

| This summer has been jam-packed with visiting. We have spent awesome quality time with relatives, old friends and new. We are so happy to be in a place where we can share in the lives of so many special people. This August we got to see some of Julie's cheerleaders and students who just happen to be living in Madison now. Also, we met Olga and Tanya, and the Newcomb's, who collaborated to write and illustrate a fabulous children's book. Sam has just loved the attention and we love bringing people into his life. |

| Sam is 7 months, he has 8 teeth that we can actually see and that he's using so far, and we are busy, busy, busy bonding with all the people in our lives. Joey, Ryan's brother had a birhtday, Ryan himself had a birthday, Sam is learning to love all the new kids in his life, we "Tasted Madison", and we are doing all we can to get to know our new church team. It's hard to believe that it's only the MIDDLE of September! |

| Connor Cecil Arrives 9/30/04 |

| Kim and Steve Cecil, pastors of our new church "The Journey", welcomed their 2nd baby, Connor, into the world on September 30, 2004. Kim had asked Julie to do the honor of being one of the birth coaches and to be present at the birth. They called at 4:45am to get her to the hospital, and Connor was born at 7:30am. It was one of the biggest honors of Julie's life and a miracle to behold. Now we have 1 full-fledged new member of our church!! |

| Noah, Sam's cousin (son of Steven and Jessica, Julie's brother), had his 1st birthday on October 2. The boys had a great time playing together and even taking their first bath together. We all had a great, great time celebrating with their family. |
