Twelfth Month
My Birthday Girl

What an amazing year!  We have had so much fun with Brooke.  The past several months have been especially enjoyable.  She is able to do so much and communicate with us in different ways.  Her favorite word seems to be dada...no, I am not jealous.  She is always happy and smiling and she thinks daddy and I are very funny.

She has been a joy and I can’t wait so see what she will do next!

Eleventh Month
Her First Graduation

Brooke is always in the best mood.  She seems to enjoy every new activity we introduce.

She officially graduated from the Bugs to the Birds class at Little Gym.  We have signed up to take classes until May.

She is making a lot of sounds now and will act like she is having a very important conversation with someone.  She gets excited and starts talking very loud.  I think when she does use real words she will have several opinions to share!

This month, we took Brooke on the Polar Express, which was really just a train in Grapevine that left the station for about 15 minutes and came back.  Sadly, I think even Brooke thought it was a little lame.

Another new activity is her occasional Sunday outing to Hooters with daddy.  Kevin meets some of his friends and their babies to watch sporting events.  He calls them guy play dates.  He is trying to convince me that Brooke's favorite color is orange...hmmm!

Tenth Month
Halloween
Brooke is going to be a French Poodle for Halloween.  She looks so cute in her costume. We are going to go to Kristy's house and trick or treat with the boys.

Ninth Month
New Addition to the House

We got a new puppy this month.  He is a French Bulldog named Roscoe.  He is great with Brooke.  He lets her do whatever she wants and doesn't get upset with her.

Brooke likes to crawl to his dog bowl and eat his food.

Eighth Month
And She's Off
Brooke was begining to crawl last month but really perfected it this month, and she is everywhere.

Brooke went to story time at the library this month.  They sing songs and read a couple of stories but it's mostly music.   She seems to
 like it.

Seventh Month
Brooke Can Sit Up

Brooke goes to sleep about 7PM and wakes up at 7AM.  She takes a nap two hours after getting up.

She loves almost all foods we have given her.  She also loves putting her feet in her mouth, so I am going to guess she doesn't have a very discerning palate!

She has learned to sit up from a laying position and can easily get onto her knees.  She just kind of rocks but is very ready to crawl.

We went to the museum this month to see an Impressionist exhibit at the Kimball.

She also went to her first groundbreaking ceremony for the condos and got to met Maddie Schaffer.

Sixth Month
I Like Little Gym

Brooke has started Little Gym class.  We are not going to do Gymboree anymore.   She is so active and I think Little Gym will be fun for her.

Brooke squeals and talks all of the time.  She loves to rub hair and to feel different textures.

Fifth Month
Chatty Girl
Brooke started to talk this month.  She babbles a lot.  She has also realized she has hands and loves to watch them move.

She takes about 6 ounces of formula every four hours.

We took Brooke to an outdoor concert at the Arboretum this month.  It was a beautiful night and it was great to sit outside and listen to music.

Fourth Month
She Sleeps Through the Night!!!!

Brooke slept through the night for the first time this month.   She sleeps between 8 - 10 hours per night.

She is beginning to suck her thumb and smile.

Third Month
New Activities

Brooke is starting to focus more.  She spends a lot of time on her activity mat and tries to hit the animals that hang down.

Brooke and I started Gymboree this month.  She seems to like the sound of people singing.  There are babies in the class from three months to ten months.

Second Month
Hanging Out With Mommy
We try to take Brooke out of the house when it isn't too cold.  She is so relaxed that it is easy to have outings with her.  We went to the zoo this month and we continue to be "ladies that lunch".

Brooke has started sighing as she falls asleep.  It is the most beautiful sound.

First Month
So Sleepy

We love to watch Brooke sleep (and she sleeps A LOT)!  She is eating about every 4 hours.  The cutest thing is to watch her try and put her fingers in her mouth.  She puts as many as will fit and then isn't sure what she should do next.

She seems to be fairly calm.  She cries when she is hungry and tired but her demeanor is more laid back than I expected.   Actually, I am not sure if she is more laid back or if I just expected it to be harder than it is...we'll see.

Brooke had a few outings this month.  She went to my office to see everyone, she went Kevin's office and to the zoo.

We have taken her out to eat with us quite a bit.
