33 Weeks Pregnant
Well, Abby is hanging in there patiently.  She is still head down at 0 station and ready to go which is causing lots of discomfort, but luckily there have been no other signs of pre-term labor.  I am having some pretty nasty contractions, but they are apparently Braxton Hicks.  Chloe was born at 38 weeks, so here is hoping that Abby wants to be just like her big sister!!!

"Sneak Peek" at Abby!

We had our 3D ultrasound last night at InnerView Ultrasound in Frazier.  Let me tell you, it was worth every single penny and we highly recommend them for anyone that wants to get a "sneak peek" at their precious little angel!  Here are just a few of the pictures from our visit!

Baby Girl Schlack is looking good!  Her head is butting right against my cervix however, so it looks like we have another impatient baby, just like Chloe!

In the meantime, baby Schlack is measuring a little small, so we will be going back in 4 weeks for another ultrasound as the doctor wants to monitor growth.  Otherwise, he/she is healthy as can be!  :)

Another trip to the hospital
After attending my cousin Robin's girlfriends baby shower on Saturday, I experienced some fairly heavy bleeding on Saturday night.  I spoke with the midwife on call, Moon, and we decided that we would wait it out until morning and see if it went away since there was no point in going to the ER that night as we wouldn't be able to get an ultrasound anyway.  So, early Sunday morning after Chloe woke me up, I went to the bathroom and realized that I was indeed still bleeding.  After confirming that it was vaginal bleeding, we decided to take a trip to the ER.

Luckily, it was early Sunday morning and there was virtually nobody else in the ER.  We sat there for about 10 minutes before we were brought up to L&D.  Once there, the baby's heartbeat was heard and we breathed a huge sigh of relief.  All that was left was the ultrasound to determine if the placenta was where it was supposed to be.  Apparently, the midwife was concerned about placenta previa which is where the placenta partly or all the way blocks the cervix.  Once it was confirmed that this was not the case (another huge sigh of relief), and the baby looked fine on ultrasound, I then took a urine test to check for a bladder infection.  Although blood was found in my urine, the midwife told me that there is no infection.

So, long story short, WE HAVE NO IDEA what caused the bleeding.  I am frustrated and I am supposed to be on modified bed rest.  This is one strike down, if this happens two more times, I am going to be put on real bed rest.  Please pray that doesn't happen!  We will keep you updated.  Our next appointment is Nov 17th.

October 18, 2005 ~ 15 weeks pregnant
We went to see Becca yesterday for our monthly check-up and she said that everything looks great!  Mommy is gaining weight right on target (11 pounds so far).  The only thing that we need to do differently is eat a little better ... more fruits and veggies.

Chloe went with us and got to hear the babys heartbeat and she was so excited.  Then, Becca put the doppler up to Chloe's heart so that she could hear her "big girl heart".  Her face just lit up at that!  She got a Dora sticker and then we met Aunt Karyn and Uncle Michael for dinner at Caseys!

Becca said that when we go back next month we will get our appointment for the 20 week ultrasound so we can find out if baby is Abby or Tyler!  We can't wait!

First Trimester is FINALLY over!

I am not sure that everyone is aware of this, but the last three months have been brutal!  First, I had several incidences of unexplained bleeding that put me in the hospital for tests.  Finally, once that subsided, I had the worst morning sickness (all day long) and exhaustion.  I couldn't keep anything down except the occassional chocolate chip cookie!  I know, rough!

After going twice to Crozier Hospital in Chester, PA, I also decided to switch OB practitioners.  So, we are back with the Midwives of Delaware County which will have us delievering at DCMH and we couldn't be happier!

So, Saturday morning I woke up and felt better than I have in months.  I have energy again, which I am going to need since we are potty training Chloe!  I also am eating everything is sight!  Look out!  We have our next appointment with the Midwives on October 18th.  Look for updates then.
