Six Months
You are six months old now. It has a been a busy half a year, but we are all settling in well. You have grown so much it is amazing to think back to the day we brought you home. You were so tiny and delicate. (Well, at over 7 lbs each, I guess you weren’t so tiny.) Kovas was bigger and stole most of the attention because Vilija slept a more. You nursed and occasionally drank formula from a tube. We immediately fell in love with you.
Now you are each 16lbs and full of life. Vilija has outgrown Kovas and has no problem steeling the focus in the room. Vilija, you are all over your brother, stealing the toys, grabbing, and making him laugh. Kovas, you are Mr. Cool about everything until you get hungry, and then you make it very clear what you want until you get it.
You are eating solid foods and would like to sit up. Marzineb is here as your nanny, and Mociute and Senelis are about to go back to Arizona. Your big sister loves on you and hugs you and plays with you all the time. Vilija, you are out of your swaddle at night and now sleep in a soft terry cloth sleep sack. That and the way you put the palm of your hand on my chest at night makes it almost impossible to put you down for the night. God you are snuggly. Kovas, you like to grab my chin and play. When I try to put you down, you just look up at me and smile and laugh.
You are two very happy babies. You laugh more than any baby I have seen. I haven’t been around that many babies, but you do laugh a lot. Vilija, I have even caught you laughing in your sleep, and your sister Evija can crack you up with ease. Kovas, you laugh the easiest when we play in front of the mirror or if I give you a raspberry just under the neck. Sometimes you and I just go back and forth making each other laugh.
How did you two get to be six months old. The time has flown by. We don’t have a lot of time to get much else done but survive these days, so we haven’t written down as much as we should, but it has been an amazing six months and you are two amazing children. The five of us will have so much fun growing up together. But maybe you two and your sister Evija can slow down a little on growing up. I don’t want these days to go.
