I sat with Jacob on my lap for half an hour, taking pictures and video taping him. He smiled once, then it slowly faded as his eyes rolled up and I realized he was sleeping!

I was so excited about his first portraits, but I never thought that he would sleep through all of it! He was like a real doll - we would move his hands, arms and legs to position him. He never woke up!

I was sitting with him in the recliner after a feeding and he was making some crazy faces! He tends to do that just before falling asleep, but today he was just making one after another while wide awake. I think you can hear me snort and laugh on the video...

We celebrated Jacob's 2 month birthday at Grandma and Grandpa Potman's house. We took some pictures, had dinner and played until Jacob was ready to pass out.

Jacob was lying on the floor with Grandma Potman sitting next to him saying how cute he is. As she was going on about his cuteness, he began to babble and talk back. It was totally unexpected and he hasn't stopped since!

Jacob's First Really Big Smile

Brian came home for lunch one day and found Jacob in the carrier on the kitchen floor while I was making his lunch. Jacob was grinning from ear to ear, showing how happy he was to see his dad. Brian grabbed the digital camera just in time to capture Jacob's smiles.

Jacob's First Solids (Rice Cereal)

During Jacob's 4 month doctor visit today, we were told that he is growing very well and that he is ready for solids. I couldn't wait to get home and feed him! He didn't have any problems eating from the spoon or eating/swallowing the cereal. What a big boy!

Jacob's First Solids (Squash Baby Food)

Well, 2 days after starting solids, we decided it was time to try actual baby food. We were told to start with vegetables, and to go from orange to green. So we started with the lightest color, squash. Jacob ate it as if he has always had squash, as if it was a normal meal.

Jacob's First Time Falling Asleep in High Chair

Jacob was so tired from not taking a nap today. He was fussy and cranky and just wouldn't sleep. But after eating dinner, he just conked out and slept there while I made dinner for myself and Brian. Poor baby!

Jacob's First Time at a Restaurant

We took Grandma and Grandpa out to dinner at Dowd's for their anniversary. Jacob was so quiet and content, watching the servers as they walked by. He fell asleep within the first 15 minutes there. Shhhh...
