This box isn't big enough for my love. I always describe my mom as a walking dictionary...she knows everything! She still says words that I have not heard in my 28 years and she knows how to spell them accurately and use them in a sentence. She has a song to sing for any situation that should arise. She has the best laugh, completely uncontrollable, and cry, equally uncontrollable. Her heart is huge and she shares it with the world. I hope her mommy greatness rubbed off on me.

Mike is also amazing. He met my mom the first day of high school in art class. They were friends ever since. He was at my parents wedding and saw us when we were babies. He's been around our whole lives. When I was 7 and Sarah was 9, he and my mom were married. We didn't understand at the time why we suddenly had to listen to this guy. It wasn't until about 5 years ago that I actually understood the extent of what he had done for us. Mike took us in, even though we were completely unappreciative, and made our families life amazing. He gave us culture and discipline and respect. I will love and honor him the rest of my life for the gifts he has given the three of us.

I was lucky enough to be born with a built-in best friend. Sarah is 18 months and 18 days older (I don't think that’s 100% accurate, but that's what we always said). There are so many millions of great memories from our childhood into adulthood that it is hard to pinpoint just one. We have been silly together and cried together and basically every human emotion we have shared. I am so thankful for Sarah and her magical ways. Everyday.

My love for Johnny is also too great for this little box. Johnny is our brother from other mothers, other planets and times really. We are connected in a very real and lovely way. Both Ben and I had very close individual friendships with Johnny before we even met. Johnny is the one who introduced us actually. Thank you Johnny! I can't wait for the moment when we get to hand you our little monkey.

Ben and I lived with Dave and Nona for a while when I first moved to Mountain Drive. They are our friends and advisors and we look up to them very much. I don't know what I would have done without Nona’s woman advise over the past few years. They are excellent representatives for the baby about what it is to be a human on Earth:)

Isabella is a spark of magic and beauty. She is so alive and radiant it is fun to just be in her presence. Ben had befriended Isabella years ago and it wasn't untill Burningman 2005 (the wedding year) that we met Atom, her equally alive and radiant counterpart. They are such a lovely pair. They moved to Hawaii and we will be visiting April 28-May 5 (photos to be posted).

Andy has been such an important fixture in both of our lives over the past few years that it only makes sense that he would be amongst the most important influences in the new little life to come.

Chip is an inspiration. He is the epitome of the word "dad". His presence in our lives is one of the reasons we are able to do this. Thank you Chip!

Ben and I were speaking to uncle Chip the other day about the idea of "the Godfather"... Since Ben and the baby and I are lucky enough to be surrounded with wonderful, magical, strong, brilliant men, it was difficult to come up with one person for this position. I had the idea of a council of men. Men, other than his amazing father, that he could call upon if he needed advise or direction. We came up with three, although there are many more that we thought he would be in good hands with.
