Erica's Journal
May 2008
39 weeks.....TICK-TOCK! Feeling pretty good for being almost 9 months preggo. No signs of labor yet so now it's just a waiting game, which is fun. :-) Both Eric and I have a feeling it will be sometime next week but who knows! We will keep you posted!

37 weeks.....holy pregnant lady! All my pregnant friends are having their babies so I think that means I'm next! We're ready but I will be happy if he arrives close to his expected arrival date because I feel like I need the time. I'm feeling pretty good for the most part. I've had a day here and there that have been a little rough but nothing too terrible, especially for being 8.5 months pregnant!

35 weeks....whew! Feeling pretty good with the exception of my hands and feet. Who knew you could get carpal tunnel syndrome while pregnant?? Well you can and it's awful! The Dr. said it disappears after delivery so that's good news. My feet just hurt from being on them for too long. We are making great progress on unpacking the house so hopefully I will be able to sit more soon. Eric and I are half way through our child birthing class series (4 total classes) and I'm definitely feeling more informed and better prepared for the big day. The baby furniture arrives Sunday so I will finally be able to finish the nursery...yey! We did assemble the bassinet, pack-n-play, bouncer and swing this week so we are making some great progress!

April 2008
32 weeks! I officially have 2 months left which is good news given all the stuff I still need to do (although I did pack my hospital bag this week)! I am feeling good, just a little tired and out of breath. At first I thought it might be the KC to CO altitude change but have since realized there is just less room to breath now that Baby Scott weighs over 4 pounds. Sleeping has also become quite comical. My transition to the lazy boy is quickly approaching, which will probably be a relief to poor Eric who has to try and sleep through the acrobatics every night. :-)

Third trimester! Yipeeee! Baby Scott is getting BIG. We saw the Dr. Monday and the little guy weighs almost 3 lbs! Mom had some tests and everything looks good. We also had our 3rd trimester sonogram and were able to see the baby sucking his fingers, blinking his eyes and his cute chubby cheeks! Just amazing.

The ladies here in Kansas City threw me a beautiful baby shower last weekend. Baby Scott and I were absolutely spoiled! Wonderful friends, wonderful food and lots of fun baby stuff! So much fun!

February 2008

Busy, busy! Eric and I attended our first Baby Basics 101 class last week. Highly suggested! A lot of info but good stuff to know. Eric swaddled and diapered the Cabbage Patch doll like a champ! We have a few more classes lined up so I'll keep you posted on our report card! The baby has also been on the move and boy can I feel him now! Such a strange and amazing thing! Eric can also feel him move if we time the karate kick just right. We have our next check up tomorrow so we'll hopefully have another baby picture to share. We just love our Doctor here so we are a bit sad to leave her but we'll be meeting our new Doc in Colorado Springs here shortly. We've heard wonderful things about her so we're excited to meet her. Just 8 weeks until the move back to CO. Crazy. Anyone ever packed a house pregnant? I'm sure it will be fun! :)

SO very excited about our big news! We've already started discussing names but who knew boy names were so tough! At our last appointment the baby was dancing in circles but I still haven't really felt anything. I'm waiting anxiously though! Still feeling great and busier than ever. I can't believe I'm half way there!

I can't believe the holidays are already here! Time seems to be flying by. I'm still feeling great and I'm definitely regaining some energy. Just a couple days until I start my 2nd trimester so I think I missed the morning sickness train! Whew! My tummy continues to expand a little every day which makes getting dressed interesting. :-) I finally broke down and made Eric go shopping with me today. We made our first maternity purchase. Crazy!

--------------------------------------------------------

I'm happy to report that I'm feeling great! Aside from altering my bedtime and pant size I haven't had to make too many adjustments. Definitely keeping my fingers crossed that this continues!

Wow! A lot has changed since we found out we're expecting a baby! It's been hard keeping this BIG secret from all of our family and friends. I'm sure some of you were starting to get suspicious especially since we suddenly became so unavailable! :) Needless to say, we are just thrilled to finally be sharing this news with you!
