How it all happened. . .

Here's the funny story of how Eli came into this world:

My original due date was June 7th, then it got moved back to June 4th.  However, baby Eli was way too comfortable in mommy's belly and had decided to stay awhile.  So - my doctor scheduled an induction for week 41 - on June 9th.

We have been lucky enough to share the entire pregnancy experience with our best friends, Glenn & Shelley Sawyer.  She found out she was pregnant a week after I did, and her due date was just about a week after mine.  However - baby Sawyer was being stubborn also, and was still breach at week 38. So a C-section was scheduled for week 39, on Monday, June 5th.

I went to the hospital to visit the newest little Sawyer, Ella Rebecca.  She was born at 1:05pm and I got to the hospital at about 2:30pm.  I was waiting at the hospital for Billy to get there after work, so we could leave together and go out to dinner.  He saw Ella, and then he decided to go to the store to get something to drink - this is about 6pm.  As I'm waiting for him to get back from the store I have to use the ladies room, and WHOA! My water broke, in the bathroom, at the hospital I was scheduled to give birth in 4 days later!

I finally left the bathroom, found Billy who'd just got back from the store - and we snuck downstairs to get admitted!  After I finally got checked in and into a room of my own, they started me on a Pitocin drip because I wasn't having contractions on my own.

Now - I'm going to skip all the gory details here. . .

Finally, after all the long months of waiting, and 19 hours of labor, Eli was born at 1:50pm on Tuesday, June 6th, 2006.
