We met at Duke University in 2000 and were married in May 2002 on the beach in St. Thomas. We live in Durham, North Carolina with our two cats, Marmie & Zippy, and our two dogs, Finnegan & Daisy. Both of us being from the north, we enjoy the mild winters of the south as they allow for year-round outdoor activities, primarily hiking with our dogs and trail running with our crazy running group the "Trailheads."
Joe is in the last semester of his nine-year MD/PhD program at Duke University and will begin his residency at Duke University Medical Center in June 2008. Mary is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and holds a position as a Program Director at Duke University School of Nursing.
Because Mary has a flexible job, once off of maternity leave, she will be able to work from home or bring Noah to her office with her if needed.
